Students may check out only what they want (for example, just bath towels or just sheet sets). Sheet-set components (pillowcase, flat sheet, fitted sheet) cannot be exchanged individually. Sheet sets are issued and exchanged only as a complete bundle.

Students may only check out 1 bath towel and 1 sheet set at a time, to ensure fair access, prevent overuse, and align with our sustainability initiatives.

Linen exchanges do not rollover. Enrolled students receive 2 bath towel exchanges and 2 sheet set exchanges per week.

Students moving in during the designated UCLA Housing Move-In Window (September 16 to September 19, 2026) will receive pickup instructions by email before move-in week. Students moving in outside the above window may pick up their first set at any of the four UCLA Housing front desks (De Neve, Sproul Hall, Rieber Hall, Hedrick Hall) using their BruinCard.

Students are responsible for checked-out linens, including items borrowed by roommates or taken by others. Normal wear and tear is covered. If damage is excessive, DormHealth may assess a Damage Fee in accordance with the Terms. If a student loses an item (bath towel, pillowcase, flat sheet, fitted sheet), it will be logged as unreturned, but students can still check out a replacement towel or full sheet set. No immediate penalty applies, but a per-item fee is charged only for items still unreturned at the end of the service term.

Yes, all linen items must be returned. An “item” is a bath towel, fitted sheet, flat sheet, or pillowcase. Unreturned items incur a $15 fee per item at the end of the service term.

Exchanges are available only while front desks are open. During university breaks (such as Winter Break), service may pause or operate with reduced hours. Students will be notified in advance. If service is unavailable, students may use on-campus laundry facilities.

The Linen Plan is non-refundable once purchased. If a student has a documented medical withdrawal, CAR, leave of absence, or study abroad program, DormHealth may consider a prorated refund on a case-by-case basis. Alternatively, students who move may also choose to continue using the Linen Plan.

No, the linen plan provides both sheet sets and bath towels for the duration of the service term.
